Centenario Manuel Rivera Sánchez Stadium

The Centenario Manuel Rivera Sánchez Stadium is a prominent multi-purpose stadium located in Chimbote, Peru. An important sporting landmark in the Ancash region, it is the home ground of José Gálvez FBC.

The stadium recently underwent a major transformation and officially reopened in late August 2025. Led by the Provincial Municipality of Santa, the renovation aimed to restore the stadium's status as one of the premier sporting venues in northern Peru.

The spectator capacity was increased from 25,000 to 32,000, and a new FIFA-certified synthetic turf pitch along with an Olympic running track were installed. The local authorities also commissioned a new state-of-the-art lighting system.
 

Modern sports lighting for an enhanced experience

The local authorities wanted a state-of-the-art lighting solution to replace the existing fixtures with metal halide lamps that had deteriorated. It was essential that the new lighting: 

• deliver precise lighting levels required for multi-sport use;
• ensure high uniformity across the field and track;
• create a comfortable, glare-free atmosphere for spectators; 
• reduce maintenance operations and costs. 

We delivered a total of 48 high-powered LED sports floodlights to achieve these objectives, ensuring the stadium remains a "first-class" facility for years to come.

As a turnkey partner, our work went beyond the delivery of the floodlights. To ensure a high-quality experience for players and fans alike, our technical team was on the ground to oversee the installation process.

We performed meticulous on-site aiming and commissioning, ensuring every floodlight was precisely oriented to eliminate shadows and glare. By conducting rigorous field measurements, we verified that the lighting levels and uniformity met the highest standards, guaranteeing a high visual environment for professional sports events and community activities.

By replacing the outdated infrastructure with this high-efficiency technology, the project has significantly reduced future maintenance operations and overhead costs, ensuring the stadium remains a sustainable asset for the city.
