You will be joining a management team passionate about our customers, innovation and looking for new ways to promote our solutions, products and services. The role will be based in Basingstoke head office.
Duties and Responsibilities
As Facilities & Procurement Manager you will be responsible for identifying, selecting and managing suppliers for Urbis Schréder; and create and progress POs. You will also be in charge of the day to day management of facilities in the head office and of 2 other locations, while managing relationships with key external stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
• Sourcing and selecting new suppliers.
• Management of the supplier performance to requirements
• Negotiation of contracts and service level agreements
• Identifying new components and obsolescence with the suppliers
• Managing contract reviews and terminating arrangements
• Placing POs in accordance with the requirements of the MRP or as requested by Management for non-MRP purchases
• Coordinating the necessary activities for items not being delivered to Urbis.
• Updating the ERP with pricing information.
• Price matching on acknowledgments.
• Liaison with the suppliers to ensure delivery dates are being met and communicating any changes to the relevant departments.
• General organisation and administration relating to the purchasing of materials.
• Assisting with Planning from time to time by the analysis of MRP and the firming of Planned Purchase Orders and Planned Works Orders.
• Assistance with general purchasing requirements.
• Providing cover in any buying / expediting role.
• Providing cover in Planning.
• Day to day management of facilities (Head Office, Warehouse and a satellite sales office)
• Other specific duties as instructed from time to time
Knowledge and Skills
• Excellent Communication skills
• Confidence dealing with third parties (at home and abroad)
• Negotiation and commercial acumen
• Skill working with MRP data and excel sheets
• Ability to analyse trends and statistical data, summarise efficiently, and make appropriate decision recommendations. High level of numeracy.
Education & Experience
• Preferred 3 to 5 years related experience in purchasing, planning & stock control
• Past experience in an industrial environment (electronics/electrical product background is an advantage)
• Experience in supplier selection qualification, evaluation, contract and price negotiations is required.
• Knowledge of ERP software and practical experience with MRP utilisation
• Membership of CIPS an advantage, or training will be given
